Timberlines Reimagined: a closing post on Blogger platform for National Pencil Day

Penciled Aspirations

once a simple pencil guy
now I'm giving poetry a try
through my favorite implement
I toil with newfound intent

feeding fuel to my inner voice
slowing down and thinking twice 
on how life's seasons did evoke
new beginnings as I awoke

to the stewing of creative juices
too long cooling among the ruses
of daily toil and dull care
giving little time to spare

towards endeavors of higher purpose
to my spirit's imagined promise
and as I enter this tangled forest
may my musings yield ample harvest

daily filled with doubts and fears
on taking up such alien adventures
self-judgement being my constant foe
hoping my words don’t totally blow

and should you follow my strange journey 
I pray you’ll find it a distraction worthy 
to awaken deep rumblings in your soul 
that rouse such urgings to grasp pencil

So, after an 8 year hiatus, Timberlines is back, but over here on Substack.  The revived Timberlines  is a newly reimagined space giving voice to my more creative side mostly focused on poetry with some commentary around my creative journey and more about what were doing at Blackwing Foundation to support kids arts in schools.   Just putting this post up here as a reference marker for anyone who may stumble on this old site.
